For the past few years, we had only two options when it came to foldable phones available in the market. For much of the time, only those two android phones solely ruled the foldable phones market as they did not have a competitor, but now they have the ONE.

Most recently, OPPO has launched the Find N2 Flip 5G. This OPPO foldable phone was released in February 2023 and is the first of its kind to be launched outside China. As soon as it got released, people started comparing its specs and features with the available folding and flipping smartphones, but without a doubt, OPPO stands ahead. Let’s talk about some prominent features of this OPPO foldable phone in detail.

1. Design – Compact and Sleek

In simple words, the design is compact, stylish, and sleek and there’s no huge crease. The back cover comes in two beautiful colors, black and purple. The display screen is big and eye-catching. The crease is so fine that it can only be seen at certain angles, otherwise no one can tell much difference. 

In terms of design and display, this phone is like the Z flip. The OPPO Find N2 has a display of 6.8 inches, and it folds exactly at a midpoint. When held in hand unfolded, it is just like any other android smartphone. The hinge is well-constructed, it requires some force to open it and can be placed at any angle. 

The Find N2 Flip is lightweight, has a glossy finish, and feels elegant and soft to the touch. There's a power button, and volume button on top of the phone when folded. These buttons are on the right side of the device as well.

There is an outside screen on the back side of the flip. It shows and runs the first-party widgets. You can see widgets for the calendar, clock, recorder, and camera.

2. Hinge -- Leading Hinge for Ultimate Crease Control

OPPO used a thin hinge, reducing the bulk and accommodating the large battery. The hinge is well-constructed, it requires some force to open it and can be placed at any angle. The crease is so fine that it can only be seen at certain angles, otherwise no one can tell much difference. The ‘Felxion hinge’ as OPPO calls it, is made up of 136 small components that are assembled in a tiny space. Due to this assembly, the wedge-shaped gap between the two halves is eliminated. As you scroll over the display, you will not feel any ditch but only a dimple-like feel. This is the sheer brilliance of this design!

3. Display – Large and Eye Catching

The display is a 6.8 inches OLED screen, the secondary display is relatively large, 3.76 inches with a middle crease. The screen of the OPPO Find N2 is neither the most pixelated (1800 x 2520) nor the brightest. There are more fluid animations as compared to the Z Flip. A refresh rate of 1-120Hz keeps the screen efficient, and color shift at different angle viewing is also great.

Talking about the crease, while going in a scrolling manner over the display of your phone, you will not feel any ditch but rather a slight dimple-like feel. The crease is also not visible and is only noticeable at a few angles. OPPO has done a great job in this regard if we compare it with others. 

The secondary display measures 3.76 inches and has a 17:9 aspect ratio. This large display is eye-catching and almost gives the feel of a normal phone landscape screen display if not smaller. Overall, the secondary display is impressive and responsive with great color gradience.

3. Battery, Processor, and Storage – Everything is Great!

As we’ve seen before, the Reno and Find X series have come up with the strongest processors and long battery lives. This OPPO Phone is no exception. The OPPO Find N2 has a large, non-removable battery that is 4300mAh that can be charged at 44W speed. It supports the SuperVooc 44W fast charging. This technology is being used in many OPPO phones and chargers and provides exceptionally fast charging. 

 This phone, however, doesn’t support IP rating and wireless charging yet.

The phone runs on MediaTek's Dimensity 9000+ SoC instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. These MediaTek’s chips are capable and the 4nm Dimensity 9000+ is a flagship performer that can keep up with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. The powerful processor is 8 cores with a maximum clock rate of 3.2GHz.

Jumping on the memory and storage aspect, the Find N2 Flip comes only in one configuration. It has 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, which we can say is ample enough to run big apps.

4. Latest Software

The OPPO Find N2 flip operates on ColorOS13 based on Android 13. You will find the phone exactly like other OPPO phones when operating it. ColorOS has been mostly well-optimized for this form factor. There is no app scaling issue as apps don’t jump between screens. For instance, YouTube will shift the video to the upper half of the screen as the phone begins to fold. Similarly, it goes for the camera as well. The camera viewfinder shifts to the upper screen upon folding. 

5. Cameras – Impressive and Detail Oriented

The Oppo Find N Flip 2's main camera is an IMX890 sensor with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and f/1.8 aperture. The 50MP main camera is great for a foldable phone. The IMX890 is omnidirectional in focus, every pixel in the sensor can focus and produce a natural-looking photo with a clear separation between the background and subject. 

The ultrawide camera has an 8MP lens. The images produced are generally softer on details, particularly in low light. The 32MP selfie camera is fine, it produces superior exposure and a much more detail-oriented picture as compared to the back camera. These OPPO cameras are great for this clamshell-designed phone. One can take group photos without asking someone to help hold the camera or tilt the screen at an angle that allows you to film in an uncomfortable position. One can also take hands-free selfies. These foldable OPPO phones provide a great experience due to their full articulate hinge and form factor.

When it comes to video performance, it is relatively much better with real-time exposure adjustment, and solid stabilization while using the main camera. The resolution of the video recording makes out at 4k/60. Oppo's custom imaging chip, MariSilicon X, helps keep noise levels low. Overall, you can say the camera does very well for a foldable phone.

6. Connectivity, Bluetooth, and Sensors

The OPPO Find N2 Flip 5G uses the latest technology of 5G connectivity. It also supports the latest Wi-Fi 6. The device supports Bluetooth v5.3 and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

Additionally, numerous sensors include; cold, temperature, geomagnetic, optical, and proximity sensors.

7. Overall Performance

There are many things to like about this phone, and there are certainly many areas where this phone does exceptionally well compared to other foldable smartphones. The OPPO Find N2 Flip 5G performs absolutely fine as a multimedia or productivity device, thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+. It is suitable for gaming as well, though it won't be much of an exception still it is a good deal for a foldable phone. 

You will not find any lag or app crashes for most of your usage and enjoy the experience of scrolling through different social media apps, clicking pictures, texting, calling, and playing multi-media.

The strong battery is exceptional for the clamshell flip phone. On average it can last up to 13-14 hours with moderate usage. Previously available foldable Phones lag in this regard as compared to the OPPO foldable phones. The phone also charges faster at a speed of 44W as compared to others.

Generally, it is a great clamshell flip phone that OPPO android smartphones have launched.
